Brian Lee

Brian Lee has served as an educator at St. George’s School for the past 22 years. As the Associate Principal of Student Life, Brian is responsible for Character Education, Student Learning Support, School Discipline and Standards, Health Services, Co-curricular activities and the Socio-Emotional Well Being of Students at the senior campus. Diligently committed to his community, Brian is the founder and director of Vancouver Sports Club, a non profit grassroots basketball organization that serves the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions in BC. Working with youth at the most formative stages in their development, VSC strives to ignite the love of the game in their student athletes through their impassioned and inspiring approach to coaching.  Meeting their athletes where they are in their development, VSC is lauded for its success in mentoring and coaching athletes who come from marginalized communities.  

      

Some of his most meaningful accomplishments over his 30 year coaching career includes: 

● 3 High School Boys Provincial Basketball Championships: 2009 BC Senior Boys AAA - St. George’s School, 1997 and 1996 Junior Boys Provincial Champions - Vancouver College.   

● 2017 Washington State 8th Grade Girls AAU Club Championship Title. The only time that a Canadian team had won the State title.

● Coached athletes who have represented Canada in international competitions and numerous others who have received collegiate scholarships to NCAA Division 1 and USports universities.

● Coaching Awards: Chippies - Canadian Basketball Award - 14U Coach of the Year (2021), BC High School Boys Basketball Coach of the Year (2009), Lower Mainland Coach of the Year (2008).

As a player, Brian learned much about the game through his experiences playing in the streets of New York and attending high school in the Bronx. In 1990, Brian accepted an offer to attend St. Francis Xavier University, playing for the legendary coach and National Men’s team coach, Steve Konchalski. In 1993, Brian led the X-Men to win the school’s first CIAU National Championship title, where he was recognized as a National First Team All Star.  

Through Brian's great accomplishments, Brian is also a husband to his wife Roxane and a loving father to their 3 children: Deja, Torian and Zane.
